Modifications

So i switched over to the beta blogger. So far I'm not really impressed. I mean it works fine and they made it a bit easier to make minor mods to the site for colour and such, but I wish they would have come up with some more creative templates or at least some place where you could change it up without having to dig through code.

I've gotten harassed again for the active x problem. I am using a flash mp3 player on the site so there aren't too many options right now until I get my collective shit together and start using a different kind of player.

Anyway no biggie, I'm just surreptitiously trying to get at your files. Don't worry about it... I mean its not like you have anything to hide right?.......right?

Knee in my package

I fully realize I am losing a bit of control by posting so many clips, but this one kills me every time! You should also be advised that I have pulled a bit of a George Lucas and modified some earlier posts....

Watch The Rick Mercer Report every Tuesday at 8PM on CBC

"The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. We don't suck as much as we did in the nineties, but we still aren't as cool as we were when Bruno Gerussi was around. We are way cooler than the Danger Bay days though.....Man! Those were some rough times! Now if we could just convince Colleen Jones that she should just curl for a living we would be as cool as Relic's Speedboat!"

File under: Somewhat freaky

Ah, sweet, sweet boredom. I found this little tidbit while browsing....

Today In History for June 1

1968: 100th Belmont: Gus Gustines aboard Stage Door Johnny wins in 2:27.2

OK. I know I'm dating myself, but its kind of neat.

Whatever.....

Hey lets get someone in Australia to prove it!

That will fool them for sure! Then they will never suspect it was us MwuaHa ha HAA!

I'm pretty sure that Nasa has taken ribbing about the little gafe in the speech that Neil Armstrong gave, when he landed on the moon, for several decades. In his defence he was on the "moon" and I am more than willing to give the guy some slack for missing a word.

I'm sure you know his statement "...one small step for man. One giant leap for mankind." (yeah, he kind of just said mankind twice!).

I suppose the reason I am having such a hard time with this report is that this is not the first time I have seen those famous words being re-worked.

My Nephew had this book, you see, and in it there was a nice little write up about what was said when Neil "the apparently incredibly fast talking" Armstrong stepped off the ladder, " That's one small step for a man. One giant leap for mankind.". Amazing you say? How did the writers of a childrens book know that a mere 8 years later that they would actually prove that he did use the "a"?

I personally don't know this to be a fact, but I'm pretty sure the writers of this childrens science book didn't come from Australia and they didn't have access to the original tapes or 21st century software that can apparently make words appear out of static either.

Maybe it's just the conspiracy theorist in me, but it sure sounds like a little bit like the Americans rewriting history. I'm waiting too find out that the "Australian" scientist is actually from Boise, Idaho!
