wow, unbelievable how special effects have changed. I was watching a special about the big dude in the blue tights and they said Steve Reaves (sp?) didn't fly? Only showed him dropping out of the sky. Obviously they lied.
In the early days they had him on wires. I guess when they were going to have him land they were going to swoop him in on a wire but there was an accident so George Reeves would just run up and jump up on a pull-up bar, swing around and do a plant on the ground so it would look like he was flying down.
